Naperville Sun Unveils 2025 Boys Soccer All-Area Team

The 2025 Naperville Sun Boys Soccer All-Area Team showcases an impressive roster of talent, featuring nine players from the Class 3A state champion Naperville North and six from Naperville Central. This recognition highlights the outstanding performances of these athletes throughout the season.

Among the standout players is Jack Bouska, a senior goalkeeper for Naperville North. He achieved a remarkable 0.44 goals-against average and recorded 17 shutouts, placing him second on the program’s all-time shutout list with a total of 44. Bouska’s contributions earned him both all-conference and all-state honors.

Another notable name is Ryan Gervase from Naperville Central. As a senior defender, Gervase established himself as one of the top one-on-one defenders in the state, contributing 5 goals and 5 assists to his team’s success. His performance secured him all-conference and all-sectional recognition.

The midfield was bolstered by players like Andrew Hebron from Naperville North, who scored a game-tying goal in the state final. His defensive prowess helped the team secure its championship title, earning him all-conference honors. Teammate Sam Hess also made a significant impact with 6 goals and 4 assists, gaining recognition as both an all-conference and all-state player. Hess has committed to play for Indiana University.

From Naperville Central, Matias Jacobs emerged as a key forward, netting 14 goals and providing 8 assists, earning him all-conference honors. Eli Jarrell, another senior midfielder from Naperville Central, had a standout season, scoring 17 goals and assisting on 14. His impressive performance places him second on the program’s career lists for goals (38), assists (30), and points (106), also receiving all-conference, all-state, and all-Midwest accolades.

The defensive line featured Colin McMahon from Naperville North, who proved to be a lockdown defender while contributing 5 goals and 6 assists. His efforts earned him all-conference and all-sectional honors. Additionally, Josh Pedersen, a forward from Naperville North, made headlines with an impressive tally of 30 goals and 10 assists, earning him both all-conference recognition and the title of player of the year. Pedersen has committed to Bowling Green State University.

Other notable players include Sergio Polanco from Benet, who secured 13 goals and 5 assists, earning him the title of conference player of the year. Alex Serra of Neuqua Valley contributed 3 goals and 2 assists, while Michael White from Naperville Central had 11 goals and 10 assists, both receiving all-conference honors.

The achievements of these athletes reflect the dedication and skill present in the Naperville soccer community. As they move forward, their contributions will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on their respective programs and the sport as a whole.
