David Anthony Gilles, aged 66, passed away surrounded by his family, including his wife and children. His death marks the end of a life characterized by dedication to family, a successful career, and a unique sense of humor. Born on April 27, 1959, in Glendale, California, he was the son of William and Carol Gilles.

After graduating from Bishop Montgomery High School, Gilles pursued further education at community colleges in Torrance, California, and Pasco, Washington. In 1980, he married Nancy Erd, and together they moved to Richland, Washington, where they raised four children: Darlene, Wendy, David, and Heather.

Gilles began his career at the Hanford Nuclear Site as a bus driver. Through hard work and perseverance, he advanced through various management positions, ultimately retiring as the Manager of Retrieval Operations at the Tank Farms. His professional journey reflected his commitment to his work and community.

In 2023, David and Nancy relocated to Sandpoint, Idaho, to enjoy their newly built home. Known for his tireless work ethic, Gilles was a devoted provider and caregiver. His calm demeanor often masked a quick wit and clever sense of humor. Those who knew him well recognized that his playful teasing meant he held them in high regard.

Gilles is survived by his wife, Nancy, their four children, eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and his brother, William. He was preceded in death by his parents.

In honor of his life and legacy, donations can be made to the Tri-Cities Cancer Center Foundation. Family and friends are encouraged to visit David’s online memorial to share memories and celebrate his life.
