Find It Keep It Opens New Thrift Store in Elyria with Ribbon Cutting
Find It Keep It, a new thrift store, officially opened its doors in Elyria, Ohio, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on November 15. Located in The Shoppes on Broad at 374 Broad St., the store offers a diverse selection of unique and trendy items for both men and women. Owner Ellen Madison emphasized that her mission is to provide quality name-brand products at accessible prices.
Madison expressed her passion for sourcing distinctive items, stating, “For the store specifically, I’m looking for both unique items and name brand. We have that (name brand) here — you don’t have to do as much looking.” The shop features an array of clothing, including shirts, jackets, shoes, pants, and accessories, all handpicked by Madison herself.
The store’s inventory boasts popular brands such as Nike, Athleta, Pacsun, Converse, Coach, and Abercrombie and Fitch. Madison noted that many items come from donations by the local community, reflecting her commitment to sustainability. “I love thrifting, I do a lot of thrifting myself,” she said, highlighting her hands-on approach to curating the store’s offerings.
Future Plans and Community Engagement
In addition to her current inventory, Madison is accepting donations of men’s and women’s clothing. She hopes to expand her business model to include purchasing clothing in the future once the store is established. Looking ahead, she mentioned plans to develop an online presence, aiming to create a website to feature top-tier items.
Madison feels optimistic about her new location within The Shoppes on Broad, where she believes a supportive community of fellow business owners will help her thrive. She acquired the space through Dan Martin, the owner of the shopping center, who was enthusiastic about the concept of a thrift store. “I’ve been so blessed,” Madison remarked, acknowledging both the excitement and challenges of starting a new venture.
“I think it’s definitely scary (starting out), but it’s comforting knowing we have such a good support system here,” she added. This sense of community is vital for small businesses, particularly in their formative stages.
For those interested in visiting Find It Keep It, more information can be found on their Facebook page or by reaching out via email at [email protected]. The store aims to be a resource for local residents seeking fashionable yet affordable clothing options.
As Find It Keep It begins its journey in Elyria, it stands as a testament to entrepreneurial spirit and community engagement in today’s evolving retail landscape.
