Community Unites for Festive Fun at Fallston Holiday Bazaar
The annual Holly Jolly Holiday Bazaar took place on November 22, 2023, at the Fallston United Methodist Church, bringing together families and local artisans for a day of festive activities and shopping. The event featured a variety of vendor tables, crafts, and opportunities for children to engage with holiday characters, including Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Throughout the day, attendees enjoyed a vibrant atmosphere as they mingled among the various stalls. Children participated in fun activities such as decorating gingerbread houses. Becca and Eli Knopp, aged five and seven, respectively, enthusiastically crafted their edible creations, embodying the joyful spirit of the season.
The bazaar also aimed to support local causes. Fourteen-year-old Dominick Hafner and his younger brother Henrik, both from Bel Air, presented their handmade crafts made from melted crayons. Proceeds from their sales will benefit the Cool Kids Campaign, a foundation that has provided support during Dominick’s cancer treatments. This personal connection added a meaningful layer to their participation.
Local entrepreneur Julie Schubert, owner of Younique Crafts & Decor, engaged with customers while assisting Adriane Burke from Phoenix with her purchases. Vendors showcased a range of holiday crafts, including unique decorations made from shells, which caught the attention of many visitors.
As families explored the bazaar, young attendees like Lilianna and Sabrina Fromille from Bel Air enjoyed special moments with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The sisters were photographed sharing smiles with the holiday figures, a highlight for many children present.
The event was not just about shopping; it also fostered community spirit. Becca Martinek, a Fallston resident, conversed with potential customers about her business, Crafted Helix, which features handmade resin and woodworking serving boards. The bazaar provided a platform for local artisans to promote their crafts and connect with the community.
Overall, the Holly Jolly Holiday Bazaar successfully brought together families, local businesses, and charitable causes in a festive environment. With its combination of fun activities and community engagement, the event marked a delightful beginning to the holiday season in Fallston.
