HigherDOSE has made a significant entry into the burgeoning pet wellness market with its launch of the Infrared PEMF Pet Bed. This innovative product marks the company’s first venture into a sector valued at approximately $150 billion, underscoring the rising demand for pet health solutions. The bed is designed to enhance the well-being of pets through a unique combination of infrared heat and Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy.

The company’s co-founders, Lauren Berlingeri and Katie Kaps, have recognized a growing interest from their customer base in products tailored for pets. The development of the Pet Bed was not merely a market analysis decision; rather, it emerged organically from feedback and engagement with their community. “Our community has always shared photos of their dogs lounging on their mats, and we saw a real, instinctive attraction to the technology,” Berlingeri noted.

This response prompted HigherDOSE to explore the feasibility of a pet-specific product. As Kaps explained, “Once requests for a pet-specific version started coming in, we went deep into research around veterinary PEMF applications.” This research revealed the potential for a new product line, solidifying their decision to invest in pet wellness.

Over the span of 18 months, the team developed the Pet Bed, collaborating with veterinarians to ensure safety and effectiveness. The bed is available in small and large sizes and incorporates several safety features such as low-EMF output, chew-resistant cords, and medical-grade non-toxic materials. “The biggest challenge was durability,” Berlingeri stated. “Pets claw, dig, nest, shed, and can be rough on materials in a totally different way than humans.”

The final product integrates infrared heat, which animals instinctively seek, with six PEMF frequency levels. This combination is designed to alleviate pain, enhance healing, and promote relaxation. According to Kaps, “We describe PEMF as holistic healing technology that supports rejuvenation, recovery, and relaxation.”

The launch of the Pet Bed fits into a larger trend where consumers are increasingly looking beyond traditional pet products like toys and food. Today’s pet owners are seeking functional items that contribute to their pets’ long-term health, including supplements and mobility aids. Kaps identifies this shift as part of a cultural evolution in how pet wellness is perceived. “Pet wellness is the next frontier in longevity,” she said.

HigherDOSE anticipates substantial growth in this new market segment. With PEMF sales already increasing by 25 percent year-over-year, Kaps projects that the introduction of the Pet Bed could elevate that growth to 30 percent. “This product introduces a new vertical and solidifies PEMF as a core pillar of the brand,” she explained.

The company is also exploring strategic partnerships to further enhance its impact in the pet wellness space. Beginning December 1, HigherDOSE will offer complimentary “DOSE Sessions” at Bark Air terminals, providing pre-flight relaxation rituals for dogs. Additionally, HigherDOSE plans to donate $10,000 from holiday sales to Wags + Walks, a nonprofit focused on rescuing and rehoming dogs, and will support an educational campaign around pet adoption.

As the brand moves forward, Berlingeri and Kaps emphasize a vision of a shared wellness ecosystem where pets and their owners engage in mutual recovery and relaxation practices. “The Pet Bed is one of the first steps toward that future,” Kaps noted.

In a market that is rapidly evolving, HigherDOSE aims to reshape the narrative around pet care. The Pet Bed is not just a product; it represents a commitment to proactive pet wellness, focusing on helping pets live not only longer but also healthier lives. Berlingeri hopes that this innovation will shift public perception and highlight the importance of integrated wellness for all family members, including pets.
