St. Michael’s Episcopal Church Celebrates 13th Annual Art Festival
The 13th Annual Lenda Dean Memorial Art Festival took place on November 7, 2025, at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Mandeville. This year’s festival showcased a diverse array of artistic expressions, bringing together local artists and community members to celebrate creativity and culture.
The event, named in honor of Lenda Dean, aims to support local artists while fostering community engagement through art. Attendees enjoyed a wide selection of visual arts, including paintings, sculptures, and crafts, allowing them to explore the unique talents of the region’s artists.
Community Impact and Engagement
The festival not only highlights artistic talents but also serves as a platform for community involvement. Donna Gardner and Stephen Gardner, key organizers of the event, emphasized the importance of art in community building. “Art brings people together,” Donna Gardner stated. “It fosters connections and conversations that strengthen our community.”
In addition to showcasing art, the festival included various interactive workshops and demonstrations, allowing attendees to engage in hands-on activities. Local musicians performed throughout the day, enhancing the vibrant atmosphere and providing a festive backdrop to the event.
Art as a Means of Support
Proceeds from the festival support various community initiatives, including educational programs and art scholarships for local students. The organizers expressed their gratitude for the community’s continued support, which has been vital for the success of the festival over the years.
The Lenda Dean Memorial Art Festival has become a cherished tradition in Mandeville, drawing visitors from surrounding areas and promoting local culture. As the event continues to grow, the hope remains that it will inspire future generations of artists and art enthusiasts alike.
“Every year, we see more and more people participating,” Stephen Gardner noted. “It’s heartening to see our community come together to celebrate the arts and support one another.”
As the festival concluded, organizers reflected on the day’s successes and began planning for next year’s event, with the aim of expanding its reach and impact even further. The commitment to fostering a love for art within the community remains a central focus as St. Michael’s Episcopal Church prepares for its 14th annual celebration in 2026.
