Community Remembers Ronald R. Weller Sr. Following His Passing
Ronald R. Weller Sr., a respected businessman and community member, passed away on December 6, 2025, at the age of 83. His death occurred at Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield, Massachusetts. Weller, who was born on October 25, 1942, in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, was well-known for his contributions to the local economy and his involvement in various community activities.
Business Ventures and Community Impact
For over thirty years, Weller owned Mohawk Commercial Cleaning, a business that provided important services to the area. Additionally, he operated the Shelburne Falls Bowling Alley for eighteen years, becoming a familiar figure in the local recreational scene. His work extended to employment at both Strathmore Paper Mill and Kendall Mills, where he contributed significantly to the workforce.
Known for his love of outdoor activities, Weller enjoyed hunting during his younger years. He also found joy in golfing and bowling, often spending quality time with family and friends. His passion for sports and community engagement left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Legacy and Family
Weller is survived by three sons: James (Patti) of Wilmington, Vermont; Rick of Millers Falls; and Jeff of Greenfield. He also leaves behind two daughters, Tauni Phillips of Turners Falls and Shelly Williams of Greenfield, along with fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. His brother George resides in Turners Falls, and his sister Janet Boudreaux lives in Orange, Massachusetts. Several nieces and nephews also survive him.
Weller was predeceased by his wife, Judith (Fleming) Weller, and his beloved dog, Mr. Murphy. The impact of his loss is felt deeply within the community, where he was not only a businessman but also a friend to many.
In accordance with Weller’s wishes, services will be private and handled by Johnson Funeral Home, located at 104 Bridge Street in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts. Those wishing to honor his memory may sign the guest book or consider making donations or tributes in his name.
Weller’s legacy will endure through the lives he touched and the community he helped build. His family and friends remember him as a dedicated individual whose contributions will not be forgotten.
