St. Charles North Dominates 2025 Girls Volleyball All-Area Team
BREAKING: The 2025 Beacon-News/Courier-News Girls Volleyball All-Area Team has just been announced, showcasing a remarkable lineup of talent, with four standout players from St. Charles North leading the charge. This year’s team highlights the exemplary skills and achievements of these young athletes, making waves in the volleyball community.
Camryn Boyd, a freshman outside hitter from South Elgin, made her mark with an impressive 291 kills, 178 digs, and 35 aces. Her performance earned her honorable mention all-state and all-conference accolades.
Meanwhile, Haley Burgdorf, a senior outside hitter from St. Charles North, delivered a jaw-dropping 435 kills, along with 198 digs and 52 aces. She was recognized as an Under Armour All-American and secured a spot on the first team all-state, in addition to being a two-time DuKane Conference Player of the Year. Burgdorf has committed to play for Penn State.
Rylie Carlson from Newark is another rising star, with 262 kills, 214 digs, and 25 blocks. She also earned first team all-state honors, showcasing her impressive skills on the court.
Paige Genke, a senior setter from South Elgin, racked up 579 assists this season, finishing her high school career with a total of 1,536 assists. She was named team MVP and received all-conference recognition. Genke has committed to D’Youville University.
The All-Area Team also features talented players like Hannah Herrick from Oswego, who had 326 kills and 256 digs, and Elizabeth King from Hampshire, who surpassed 1,000 career kills this season.
Ella Maxwell from West Aurora, honored as Upstate Eight West’s Player of the Year, had 561 assists and is committed to Michigan Tech. Mia McCall of St. Charles North also made headlines with 767 assists this season.
All players recognized in this announcement have displayed not only outstanding athletic prowess but also dedication and teamwork throughout the season. These achievements highlight the growing talent pool in girls’ volleyball across the region, sparking excitement among fans and prospective college recruiters alike.
