Bay Area High School Football Playoffs: Key Results from Week 13
UPDATE: Major high school football playoff results are in from the Bay Area, showcasing thrilling matchups and standout performances from November 10, 2025. The latest developments bring both triumph and heartbreak as teams vie for coveted championship spots.
In a dramatic clash, CCS Open Division No. 1 Archbishop Riordan dominated No. 2 Serra with a decisive 33-13 victory at San Jose City College. The Crusaders’ win was less dramatic than their previous encounter, solidifying their place at the top of the league.
Meanwhile, in the NCS Open Division, No. 1 De La Salle edged out No. 2 Pittsburg with a close 24-17 scoreline, marking the Spartans’ impressive 33rd consecutive NCS title. Despite Pittsburg’s strong possession game and multiple fourth-down conversions, De La Salle’s defense held firm, showcasing a relentless effort as North Carolina commit Jaden Jefferson rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown.
In CCS Division II, No. 1 St. Ignatius overwhelmed No. 4 Menlo School with a staggering 42-6 victory, thanks to quarterback Caedon Afsharipour, who threw for five touchdowns. The Wildcats now advance to the championship game, marking their second consecutive appearance under coach JaJuan Lawson.
Over in NCS Division II, No. 2 Monte Vista triumphed over No. 3 California with a score of 35-21. Senior quarterback Ian Ondricek and senior Torin Dunphy each scored twice, propelling Monte Vista into the finals against Clayton Valley. The Mustangs will be looking to secure their first NCS title since 2016.
In another decisive matchup in NCS Division III, No. 3 El Cerrito bested No. 2 Rancho Cotate with a commanding 26-9 victory. After a tumultuous previous season, the Gauchos (10-2) now aim for the D-III championship, scoring multiple rushing touchdowns and capitalizing on a blocked punt.
Also noteworthy, CCS Division IV saw No. 1 Branham narrowly defeat No. 5 Half Moon Bay 56-45, with standout performances from Michael Murphy, who scored three touchdowns. Branham is excited to head into the championship game, seeking its first title.
In the NCS Division IV, No. 1 Hayward overwhelmed No. 4 Granada with a score of 41-18, setting the stage for a title shot. The Farmers showcased a powerful running game, led by Maurice Hall and Lamont McDonald, who combined for over 300 rushing yards.
As the playoffs continue, No. 3 Miramonte secured a crucial win against No. 7 Redwood, achieving a shutout victory of 20-0. This puts them in a strong position to challenge for their 11th section championship next week.
Additionally, No. 3 Bishop O’Dowd won decisively over No. 2 St. Helena, with a score of 49-26. The Dragons displayed a balanced attack with contributions from both offense and defense, advancing to the D-VI title game next week.
Finally, No. 2 Piedmont made headlines by defeating No. 3 Willits 28-10, marking a remarkable turnaround for a team that nearly faced elimination just five years ago.
