Eagles’ Jordan Davis Makes History with Record Performance
UPDATE: Jordan Davis, the Philadelphia Eagles’ standout defensive tackle, made franchise history this week as he was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week following an impressive performance against the Detroit Lions on November 19, 2025. This recognition marks a significant milestone as Davis is the first player in Eagles history to win both Defensive Player of the Week and Special Teams Player of the Week in the same season.
In the Eagles’ 16-9 victory over the Lions, Davis batted down three passes, showcasing his exceptional skills on the field. Earlier this season, he earned the Special Teams honor after blocking a field goal and returning it for a touchdown against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 3. With this latest accolade, Davis solidifies his status as a key player for the Eagles.
At just 25 years old, the former 2022 first-round pick out of Georgia is having a breakout season, recording six batted passes and three sacks across ten games. According to Pro Football Focus, he ranks 14th among 105 defensive tackles with at least 200 snaps. This remarkable progress follows a challenging start to his career, but Davis has transformed himself by losing 26 pounds this offseason.
Head coach Nick Sirianni expressed his pride in Davis, stating, “I think what a great example of the world that we live in today, (people want) instant gratification. He had to go through some ups and downs. He’s got himself in the best shape of his life.” Sirianni emphasized the hard work Davis has put in to achieve this recognition, saying, “Just happy for him because of all the work that he’s put into to get that acknowledgment.”
In a press conference on Wednesday, Davis reflected on his achievement, noting that “individual accolades come and go.” He emphasized the support of his teammates, stating, “At the end of the day, it wouldn’t mean as much without those guys that I play with.” Davis credited his success to the camaraderie and energy shared with his teammates, saying, “If everyone was moping around, it wouldn’t be fun for me. Those guys make it fun for me.”
As the Eagles continue to push for success this season, all eyes will be on how Davis and the team perform in their upcoming games. With this historic recognition, Jordan Davis is not just a player to watch—he is a testament to perseverance and teamwork in the NFL.
Stay tuned for more updates on Davis and the Eagles as they aim for greater heights this season.
