The Ars Choralis chorus has announced its schedule for the upcoming holiday concert season, promising a blend of traditional and contemporary festive music. The performances are set to take place on December 6, 2025, at 7 p.m. at the Holy Cross/Santa Cruz Episcopal Church in Kingston, and on December 7, 2025, at 4 p.m. at the Overlook United Methodist Church in Woodstock.

Both concerts will feature “Holiday Sampler,” which intertwines holiday music and traditions from the American colonies with sacred Christmas music from Europe. The chorus will be joined by the Hudson Valley Youth Brass Ensemble, under the direction of Harvey Boyer. This concert marks the beginning of Ars Choralis’ 2025–26 season, a year dedicated to commemorating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The season will highlight the diverse cultures that shape the American identity.

Tickets for the holiday concerts are priced at $30 at the door, $25 in advance, and $10 for students.

In addition to the holiday performances, Ars Choralis will host a free New Year’s Eve concert titled “A Quilt of Courage” at the Old Dutch Church on December 31, 2025, at 6 p.m.. This event, organized in partnership with the city of Kingston and the church, will pay tribute to the lives of local individuals who have profoundly impacted the course of American history. Attendees are encouraged to contribute cash donations to benefit People’s Place of Kingston.

Moreover, the chorus will collaborate with the Windham Festival Chamber Orchestra for a performance on November 29, 2025, at 7 p.m. at the Orpheum Performing Arts Center in Tannersville, further enriching the cultural offerings of the region.

As the holiday season approaches, Ars Choralis invites music lovers to celebrate with these engaging performances, showcasing the richness of American musical heritage.
