Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway Reunite in The Devil Wears Prada 2 Teaser
A new teaser trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2 has been unveiled, showcasing a reunion between stars Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. This highly anticipated sequel follows the original film, which debuted in 2006, and is based on Lauren Weisberger‘s 2003 novel. The sequel is currently in development at 20th Century Studios and is set to hit theaters on May 1, 2026.
The trailer offers a brief glimpse into the film, featuring a scene where Andy Sachs, played by Hathaway, encounters her former boss, Miranda Priestly, portrayed by Streep, in an elevator. Miranda’s greeting, “Took you long enough,” suggests a familiar dynamic between the two characters that captivated audiences in the first film.
More than a decade after the original film’s success, the sequel brings back key characters, including Emily Blunt as Emily Charlton and Stanley Tucci as Nigel Kipling. A description highlights that the film is set in the fashionable landscape of New York City and will explore the evolution of these characters in the world of high fashion.
David Frankel, who directed the first film, returns to helm this sequel, working from a script written by Aline Brosh McKenna. The cast also features returning actors Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman, along with newcomers such as Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Patrick Brammall, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, Pauline Chalamet, B.J. Novak, and Conrad Ricamora.
The production team includes Wendy Finerman as producer and executive producers Michael Bederman, Karen Rosenfelt, and McKenna. As excitement builds for the film’s release, fans of the original are eager to see how the beloved characters navigate their lives nearly twenty years later.
The original The Devil Wears Prada became a cultural phenomenon, defining a generation and establishing itself as a classic in the genre. The sequel aims to recapture that magic while introducing new elements that resonate with today’s audiences. With its blend of humor, fashion, and drama, The Devil Wears Prada 2 is poised to make a significant impact upon its release.
