SanDisk Launches Ultra-Compact 1TB USB-C Flash Drive
SanDisk has introduced the Extreme Fit USB-C, touted as the “world’s smallest” USB-C flash drive with a storage capacity of one terabyte. This new device is designed for high-speed data transfer, boasting read speeds of up to 400 megabytes per second.
Compact Design Meets High Performance
The Extreme Fit USB-C is engineered to connect via USB 3.2 Gen 1, ensuring compatibility with host systems that support the same standard. Measuring just 18.5 x 15.7 x 13.60 millimeters and weighing only three grams, this flash drive is remarkably compact. Its design allows it to fit snugly into most modern laptops without protruding, reducing the risk of damage from accidental bumps.
SanDisk offers the Extreme Fit USB-C in various storage options, including 64GB, 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and the flagship 1TB model. While the smaller 64GB version reaches a maximum speed of 300 MB/s, the higher-capacity models provide enhanced performance for users requiring faster data transfers.
Pricing and Market Context
The official recommended retail price for the 1TB model in the United States is set at $119.99. With a five-year manufacturer’s warranty included for all versions, SanDisk aims to ensure reliability for its customers.
As demand for memory products continues to rise, experts suggest that prices could increase due to a current shortage of NAND flash memory. Customers looking to purchase memory solutions might want to act quickly to take advantage of the current pricing before any potential hikes.
Joshua Bato, a spokesperson for SanDisk, emphasizes the importance of both performance and portability in today’s digital landscape. The Extreme Fit USB-C caters to users who need reliable storage that can easily accompany them on the go.
With its innovative design and impressive specifications, the SanDisk Extreme Fit USB-C sets a new benchmark in the flash drive market, making it an attractive option for consumers seeking high-capacity, portable storage solutions.
