Millville Woman Arrested After Threatening U-Haul Worker with Baton

UPDATE: A Millville woman has been arrested after allegedly threatening a U-Haul employee with an expandable baton in Bridgeton. The incident occurred at 4:20 PM on Monday, October 23, 2023, at the U-Haul Moving and Storage located at 825 N. Pearl Street.

Bridgeton Police responded to emergency calls reporting a woman brandishing a baton and making threats. Upon arrival, officers encountered Nantonya Mangini, 51, still holding the baton and threatening the employee.

Eyewitness reports indicate that Mangini resisted police orders to drop the weapon, attempting to walk away multiple times while still in possession of the baton. After a tense standoff, she finally complied and dropped the baton, leading to her arrest.

Mangini was taken to the Bridgeton Police Department, where she faces multiple charges including obstruction, terroristic threats, weapons offenses, and failing to allow police to fingerprint her. She is currently being held at the Cumberland County Jail pending court proceedings.

This alarming incident highlights the increasing concerns over public safety and the potential for violence in everyday situations. Authorities are urging community members to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately.
