UPDATE: Starting December 1, 2025, strict winter parking rules will be in effect across the Triple Cities area, impacting residents in Johnson City, Binghamton, Endicott, and Vestal. With alternate street parking regulations coming into play, residents are urged to prepare now to avoid costly tickets.

In Johnson City, alternate street parking mandates that residents park on the even side of the street on even days and the odd side on odd days. This rule will remain in effect until March 31, 2026. Officials emphasize that Red-Line streets have different regulations and are not subject to the alternate parking rule but have their own Snow Emergency Route rules.

Binghamton implements similar rules, but they will end slightly earlier on March 15, 2026. Authorities recommend motorists move their vehicles off the streets during snow events to assist snow plows and emergency crews in maintaining clear roadways. The odd/even parking changes will begin at 5 p.m., so residents should plan accordingly.

In Endicott, winter parking restrictions also kick in on December 1 and will last until March 31, 2026. Here, parking is prohibited between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. unless otherwise posted. Additionally, certain areas will have parking restrictions from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. following snow emergencies to facilitate snow removal.

The Town of Vestal will enforce its annual winter parking ban starting December 1, prohibiting parking on town roads between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. through March 31, 2026.

Residents should take these regulations seriously, as the first week often includes warning tickets, but this is not guaranteed for the current season. Violators risk receiving tickets that not only impact their wallets but also contribute to the frustration of neighbors trying to navigate the winter roads.

For further details, residents are encouraged to visit the official websites of their respective municipalities: Johnson City, Binghamton, Endicott, and Vestal.

As the winter season approaches, staying informed and compliant with parking regulations is crucial for all residents in the Triple Cities. Prepare your parking strategies now to avoid the hassle of fines and ensure smooth snow removal efforts in your community.
